Evening dinner adventure: We would like to great you welcome to our beautiful part of the world with a unique dinner adventure. Depending on the weather and availability we present our dinner in the waterfront Lavvo, or the old grocery store on the pier. Your transport to the dining “table” is kicksledges, operated by your own feet. The distance of 200m should get your appetite running – and you might be able to see the northern lights on the way.

Snowshoeing: We are delighted to invite you to participate on this fun activity. You are picked up at your hotel and brought out to areas where snow conditions are super for snowshoeing. Enjoy learning the particular technique to handle walking with bigger feet. This is challenging, fun and playing in the snow.

Northern lights ferry cruise in the island district: Search for the northern lights on the local ferry which traffics the island district of Tromso city. Your guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the ferry all islanders use as daily transport. The ferry departs Bellvik ferry quay in the afternoon. The first port of call is the fishing village Vengsoy. The village still has a lively, yet not very large, fishing industry. Around 80 people live at the island and a number of city people have cabins here. The next port of call, if the ferry is summoned, is the village Laukvik, this is now merely a holiday village. The island which is inhabited is Musvar, an archipelago of islands where the biggest island houses a family of five and one single man. This island is a remainder of the old culture which is now vanishing, a culture where people fed themselves through fishing and farming. The outermost island before we visit Vengsoy again is called Sandoy – population two. A historic village populated since the Viking age.

Day 3:
Dog sledding in Arctic Tromso: Picture yourself sitting on your sled as it glides through the snow covered tundra being pulled by excited huskies. The snow capped peaks are off in the distance and its easy to imagine you are following in the footsteps of Amundsen. Then you stop. You can feel the fresh air bite your cheeks and you can smell the snow in the air, as you sit on your sled through the winter night. This adventure is quietness, howling of huskies, darkness, snow and cold. Being out in the cold, it is nice to know that a bonfire is waiting to defrost you. Dinner included.
